Only a day after the attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Kashmir, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and NCP chief Sharad Pawar targeted Prime Minister Modi. Mamta said, “I am sad to see that Prime Minister Modi is also inaugurating the government project after a serious incident in Pulwama. In such a situation, we should avoid government programs.
Mamta questioned, “Will only be mourned at the death of politicians? I beg for 72-hour mourning. Why, why not be mourned for three days from the center?”
Mamta said, “We do not want to do any kind of politics with this incident. That’s why we did not say anything. Not only we (Trinamool) but the Leader of any opposition party have said nothing about this matter. We are with all the countrymen. But we have the right to know what really happened? What was the National Security Advisors (Ajit Doval) doing? Why we did not get any kind of information before the attack? Why so many young people were killed? These questions are of people, not only me.”
Sharad Pawar said, “I recall that Prime Minister Modi used to say in election rallies before coming to power that the Manmohan government had failed to teach Pakistan a lesson even after the terrorist attacks. Modi used to say that the Manmohan Singh government does not have the capabilities so that they can teach a lesson to Pakistan. This can be done by a 56-inch chest ruler, but now all have seen what has happened? But I demand the same today I will not do that what Modi did at that time.”
