Why I use Google search and not Bing

Everyone uses Google. This is not a new story.

Yes, I know that. But I had been hearing lots of noise around how Microsoft had totally revamped their search engine and named it Bing. Many blogs and news articles had claimed the accuracy of the search results of Bing and how it has a fresh look and other things.

So, yesterday, I thought to go and give it a try. So, how did it fare. Well, here is how Bing fares when compared to Google search.

Internet Explorer is not able to open links shown in the search results of Bing.

Internet explorer can not open links from Bing search results

Bing shows search results that are infested with virus, that is detected by even the free version of Avast Antivirus software.

Bing shows Google.com as the top search result when I try to search something starting with the letter ‘w’

Whereas Google search results show links that are not as obvious as www.Google.com

So, the conclusion of my trial of Bing was that, Microsoft still writes crappy software. Their main purpose is to bring out to the market the same old product with a new packaging. Some times, the new software is even crappier than the earlier version of the same software. So, Microsoft Bing still has a long way to go before they can claim some descent search traffic. They are not even able to distinguish between a Genuine version of their Operating System Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium.
